This is a 3-5 day mini-unit that focuses on capitalization, end marks and word order in basic sentence writing. This unit includes:
– Video notes on capitalization rules using mnemonic device
– Identification / Practice as a class on what words need capitalization
– Station work
– Animated notes on end marks
– Pair & Share activity
– Animated and color coded notes on word order
– Identification / Practice as a class on what the different parts of speech are
– Word sort
– Sentence writing & sentence scramble

Links to free worksheets if more practice is needed or you want to extend this into a week long unit. Additionally, links to Nearpod lessons if your school has a subscription to that.
I created this as a way to the most basic writing skills to my newcomer/beginner ELLs once they have acquired enough language to write sentence.
