Lesson 1: 4 slides of notes on question tags specifically for: verb ‘to be,’ can, simple present, and simple past. As a class, students practice reading question tags and matching them to the correct picture. In partners or as a class, students complete a fill-in-the-blank activity. Worksheet and/or Kahoot to be done independently.
Lesson 2: As a class, warm up with interactive notes that elicit speaking. In partners, students sort question tags into correct piles. This can also be a class activity. Students practice speaking in small groups/partners with a choice of: sentence strips, dice speaking game, or tic-tac-toe speaking game. Independent spoken exit ticket at the end.
