Each lesson comes with detailed instructions on sequence and implementation, class, pair, and independent work, ways to differentiate worksheets and activities, as well as answer keys and grading rubrics. ELPS included for Texas teachers.

✏ Lesson 1: Teacher introduces was and were through notes. Practice as a class with a basic read aloud and the 2 fill-in-the-blanks. Then in partners, students complete a sentence sort by placing the sentences into the correct pile. Worksheet for independent practice.
✏ Lesson 2: Warm up with the text message fill in the blank. Then as a class, read the reading text together as a class. Define unknown vocabulary. In partners, students answer the 5 comprehension questions. Students complete the written assignment independently.
✏ Lesson 3: Students warm up with a listening activity. Then, as a class, practice listening and speaking with the interactive slides. In pairs, students then pull some question strips and ask their partner the question with the partner responding.
✏ Lesson 4: In pairs, students play a board game where they roll a die and answer different questions. Text is editable in case you need to adjust the rigor. There is also a Find Someone Who activity were students walk around the room and ask their peers questions and record the answers. Sentence stems provided. Have students share out some of their responses when completed. Written or spoken exit ticket for independent practice.
